THE LIFE PASSPORT
Your story, yours to keep.
A youth-driven binder designed to hold your memories, your identity, and your milestones — safely, privately, and on your own terms — through every move.
WHAT IS A LIFE PASSPORT?
A safe place for everything that makes you you.
Everyone has a story worth keeping — but for foster youth, holding onto that story can feel impossible. Frequent moves mean leaving things behind: photos, memories, the little details that remind you of who you were and where you've been.
The Life Passport is a physical binder — thoughtfully designed and youth-driven — that travels with you. It holds your photographs, your milestones, your reflections, and the pieces of your life that matter most to you.
Anyone would benefit from having a Life Passport. But for foster youth, it's more than a keepsake. It's a thread of continuity in a life that's had too many interruptions.
It belongs to you. Completely.
Your Life Passport is yours — not your caseworker's, not your foster parent's, not the system's. You decide what goes inside. You decide what to share. You decide what stays private. It is intended to be whatever you want it to be without any outside pressure.
A place for your photographs
School pictures, birthday photos, snapshots with people you love. Proof that your childhood happened and it matters.
A record of your milestones
Achievements, firsts, moments you’re proud of — a life passport holds evidence of how far you’ve come, no matter how many times you’ve had to start over.
Space for your thoughts
Thoughtful prompts, designed by and for foster youth, offering space to reflect, capture who you are at any given time, and write your own story.
Conceptualized to survive every move
Zippered binder to keep your memories safe and secure. Intended for real life, not ideal circumstances.

Leave us some feedback!
We are always looking for ways to make the Life Passport even better for foster youth. If there’s a page you wish existed, a prompt you’d tweak, or anything else that comes to mind, we’d love to hear from you below! You help us grow.
HOW TO GET A LIFE PASSPORT
Life Passports are available to foster youth through the Wherever I Go Continuity Fund. Submit a request and we'll mail it — no complicated process, no strings attached. Foster youth can request one for themselves or have a caregiver, caseworker, or advocate submit a request on their behalf.
